T-Mobile inflexibility
T-Mobile recently charged me about £300 across two bills (normally about £26 a bill) after I moved house and started using my mobile much more - the problem being that I misremembered my call allowance (I switched some things around from calls to data some time last year) and going over is absurdly expensive, and with all the move going on I missed the first bill, and only noticed halfway through the next month. What really grates is that for £5 a month I can get unlimited landline calls and for another £5 a boatload of minutes. If I'd had that in place it would have saved me £200...
I asked T-Mobile to backdate the boosters (even within the current billing month, which I really thought they would do) and they refused. Well, fine, it's their right to take advantage of my mistake, and charge an arm and a leg for what shouldn't cost that much. And it's my right to post this cautionary tale, and to leave them and never return when my contract ends in the summer.
Anyway, so that this isn't mere gripe: any recommendations for good Android apps for tracking call and data allowances and usage?

Tmobile have an app that both shows your allowance and what you've used0

Call meter for calls, 3G Watchdog for data (both free); they are the first apps I install when I get a new smartphone.
As for the rest; it isn't T-Mobile's fault, it's yours - and no other network is likely to respond differently.0 -

Yes thanks, I had that. I uninstalled it because it was always crashing. When it works, it's good to have quick access to the network's view of what's going on.0 -

Call Meter 3G looks promising. 3G Watchdog I used a while back and it seemed to eat battery.
I'm fairly sure I was pretty clear that it wasn't T-mobile's fault. But I've made mistakes as a consumer before, and been treated with a degree of respect and flexibility in accordance with the length of my relationship with the company. It may be that every other network would also be "yay, it's a chance to charge £300 for £30 worth of calls", but I'll take my chances. Every time I've dealt with O2 customer service (for a variety of issues) they've been good, so I'm planning to go to them, and to not get tempted into the cheapest deal, which tends not to be them.0 -

I know what you mean but i think the days of respect and flexibility are long over. It really is a case of us and them. They want your money and are MORE than prepared to be dishonest to get it so you have no chance at all if its you who made the mistake. It might sound cynical but if you dont approach any dealings with these people with that attitude then you are going to get ripped off at some point.0
