help geek squad insurance letter for person who doesnt live at address?

I have received a letter today addressesed to someone who has never lived at my address. We have owned the house from new 14 years ago.
I rang the freephone number and informed them or their error. They didn't seem that concerned & suggested the postcode had been input in error! I was advised to put the letter back in the post endorsed not known at this address.
I asked how I checked if the person had taken a mobile phone contact out at our address as well. He put me on hold when he came back he said he couldn't say due to "data protection" and suggested I ring all the mobile phone companies myself!!
This is not something I am willing to do.
I could maybe do a credit check on our address but has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do?
Thanks in advance

If it's only the address that is the same, not the name, you have nothing to worry about.

Your address does not have a credit history.
Credit is attached to a person, it is a contract, a house can not sign contracts.
    Be happy...;)
  • Yup as stated, a credit score is assigned to a person not an address. One of the biggest myths going that. So you have no real issues.

I think it's probably input error like they said. If they had taken out a phone contract at your address the chances are you'd be receiving bills and taken delivery of the handset.
