hand cream reccomendations??

Im working as a housekeeper and the antibacterial spray we use for cleaning bathrooms and the glass cleaning spray seem to be taking their toll on my hands and nails. My nails are flaking and splitting as soon as theres any length and my hands are starting to feel very dry and in particular around my thumb the skin is splitting and peeling.

Im using nu nail cream on my nails atm, but thats a new thing only in the last few days so too soon to notice if its making a difference as yet as I cut my nails down too. My current hand cream is the soap and glory one that I got in my set at christmas, but it doesnt seem to be helping too much as my hands still feel very dry.

Anyone have any handcream reccomendations??? or nail creams incase the nu nail doesnt work for me despite the reviews lol

Firstly, if I were you I'd get myself some gloves for cleaning.

Secondly, the best hand cream I've ever tried is Clarins. It is expensive, but it's very good and you don't have to use much.
  • I'm always looking for new hand team!
Currently using this and it's good and often on offer too

I know my granny swears by this too

I've also used Body Shop Hemp hand protector which is good for helping dry skin but I don't like it for use all the time but is good for helping skin and you can wear under cotton cream, my cousin loves this cream so much that some had to be sent over to Oz when he was over there!
I also agree with wearing gloves

There's only one hand cream, the body shop hemp, its the dogs.
I keep some in my bedside cabinet, I apply last thing at night.
  • Another vote for Body shop Hemp hand cream. Buy it when it is on offer, there are always codes going for bodyshop.

I also agree with the suggestion of gloves. I hate gloves because I find I drop things but I can't use anything anti bacterial. If I was in your position of having to use it everyday, I would have to wear gloves.

I work as a cleaner in a Nursing Home and we have to wear one use gloves and change after each room. I'm surprised these are not provided or something similar.

However, I use Aqueous Cream as does OH he swears its the only thing that stops cracks on his hands. His Dad used to plunge his thumb directly into the pot and leave it there. :D
  • Another for the Body Shop hemp hand cream! I swear by it now.

    Hi
My hands get very dry and cracked with dermatitis. I've found Flexitol hand cream from Boots brilliant, it contains urea which is good for dry skin, costs about £5-6 I think. It's my go-to product when my hands play up.

  • There is no contest - body shop hemp!!

I have tried them all including high end ones and the hemp one beats the pants off every single one!
