Igamogam, I applied for the credit card that was the equal amount to what I owe on one of my cards, forgetting that you can only balance transfer 90% or something, 95? Can't remember, either way it'll be paid off by this time next month. Just a bit annoying. Also, I got quite a big interest free amount so not sure I'd have gotten any more anyway.
I'm becoming a regular at the discount food section of my local shops, don't seem to go near the rest any more when I'm looking for dinners, just got some quorn bits for 29p and quorn steak for 35p, all freezable so that's dinner sorted for a wee while. :j Happy day, and I love that I see the impact of this on my weekly budget right away.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
I don't really have much to report but I'm here for a wee update anyway.
I did lots of study yesterday which felt really good and didn't cost a penny. I also just got my reading list for my next year at Uni. There are quite a few books I am expected to buy. They only say this when we are going to read more than one chapter from the same book through the term, due to photocopying laws. I think I'll see how many of these books are in the library and just photocopy them anyway. This would be legally wrong, but is it morally wrong too? It makes me sweat a bit just thinking about it.
Me and OH fancied Domin**s last night so went to a certain freezer supermarket instead and got the equivalent for a fraction of the price. Total saving - somewhere in the region of £20. And it was still delicious.
I have all the food I need and more to last until my next weekly budget starts on Thursday. The problem is, due to the unexpected credit card payment, I don't have any more cash for the month for food. I could take it out of the moving fund, and still have enough money for the move, but I'd like to try and accrue some more.
I sold my bedside tables for £10. :T
I sold my bookcase for £5. :T
I have 4 other items for sale online and if they sell, things will look a bit more promising.
I am so impatient to move in with OH I can hardly stand it. I want to do it NOW! :rotfl: It will be amazing in so many ways, and the fact that it is also a financially brilliant move is just the icing on the cake.
Happy money saving day everyone. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

If you are just going to use copies for personal use and not distribute multiple copies I wouldn't sweat - probably still not right but not worth a sweat;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I got a letter from NRAM yesterday saying 'we were hoping to have completed our investigations by now, and given you a proper reply, but we haven't done it yet, so you'll need to wait another 20 working days.'
Is that even allowed? Not that I'm fussed, the longer they stall, the more the 8% interest adds up.
I still haven't figured out how to go Alliance and Leicester. The first time I phoned, they wanted the temporary address I was in when I took the mortgage out. I figured that out and phoned them back. This time they said (without taking a note of said address) 'your PPI would have been with another company'. And as an after thought, they gave me their head office phone number. Which I haven't phoned yet.
Do you think I'm being fobbed off? It's not PPI with A and L (or at least it shouldn't be, I remember the chat, I remember saying 'no', so if they have sold me ppi then that's worse than the NRAM crowd) but I want to reclaim a mortgage exit fee from 2006 when they were charging a fortune, or £295. I remember being shocked at the time.
Anyone else had any luck with reclaiming a mortgage exit fee? I could do with a bit of encouragement with this one.

Today will be a NSD since I'm stuck at home studying. I have a deadline tomorrow then once that's done, it's only a few weeks til the house move and all the prep for that. Exciting! :j

Thanks Igamogam, I think you're right, had a quick check on here and apparently it could only take a quick phone call although I am past the 6 years when a payout was guaranteed. We'll see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.
Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about the cinema deal with tic tacs that's on just now. You need 4 promotional packs of tic tacs, the supermarkets have them on special offer 3 for £1, then one more pack at 60p. You go to a website called Happy Deals or something (can't quite remember) log your codes and then get a movie voucher. Huge saving, it costs a tenner to go to the movies here. :T
2 weeks til payday and the debt busting is slow going. MBNA card just got cleared completely. I phoned them and asked for a deal on a balance transfer but they said no. Very nicely, but no all the same. I'm determined to get everything on 0% so I'll keep trying.
Happy debt busting everyone. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0
