(Okay, concession, Eon are one of the companies that force you to supply an actual address before giving you a quote (instead of just a postcode). I agree that is wrong and grotty behaviour. At least you are already a customer! (albeit unwillling))

More untruths. Its actauly an 8 stage process to gaining a quote. Postcode and house number to find and select your address, then you have to enter your current gas and your electric usage for each period or how much you currenlty pay. Then your current supplier, their tarriff and payment details and finally you choose how your paying E.On and paperless billing or not. All I asked people to do was to look on the back of their invoice.

Wow....Its kind of like having to work out your expected mileage and average speed before your petrol station will tell you how much petrol is per litre!

Thank you for your response and in doing so keeping this thread active. I'm not entirely sure why you have chosen to respond as your clearly not able or have no interest in this thread other than to try and detract from the actual thread request asking for specific pricing comparisons.

E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v6 tariff is Eon's cheapest tariff as stated on their website and better value than the standard tariff.

Would the OP care to tell us which nPower tariff it is they're switching to? And there expected usage over the coming months, along with the expected "overcharge" by the deemed supplier?

They seem to feel that standard tariffs are a way of an energy supplier "charging what they want" and fail to realise that the energy market is an incredibly competitive market, and that suppliers are mainly compared based on their standard tariff rates, and therefore have a duty to keep the standard tariff rates at a "reasonable" rate. More recently, the difference between the standard tariff rates and the cheapest tariff rate is very slight.

Incorrect. I'm just trying to ascertain how many actuall "standard" tariffs E.ON have.

    Good morning Tony,

I just want to explain what happens when you move in to a new house.

The property will already have a supplier, (in this case E.ON) when people move in to new homes they need to let the current supplier know, with their details start reads etc.

Once you've got an account, you can arrange (as you have) to change supplier, this can take around 4-6 weeks though.

I'm not allowed to post prices on here I'm afraid, but it doesn't take long to look at on the website.

Do you have an online account? You may find it easier to register for this then look at the tariffs.

    Thank you

    Helena

What happens when people move into a new house is that they are placed into a Deemed contract with the former owners supplier. In this instance Eon have adopted me as a customer without notification or agreement with me and as such have denied me my right to choose my own supplier. They have then placed me on a tariff which I was not privy to and are now demanding a payment for an amount which I did not agree to or negotiate.

So far nobody has explained to me how as the new occupier I was expected to know E.ON was the previous occupiers supplier. Next time I move house I'll speak to a physic! maybe they will be able to tell me.

Thank you for those who have responded. From the information gained I believe I was correct to open this thread in an effort to gain clear and simple pricing information from E.ON and other supply companies. Indeed E.ON do have "4" tariffs however what they fail to tell you is that these are dependant upon the region you live in and as such in my eyes they are not being wholly open and truthful about their pricing information. In my eyes E.ON may have 4 pricing plans but they have a lot more than 4 tariffs and as such I am able to say that customers in Hertfordshire pay less per kWh than customers in Hampshire who both pay less than customers in Manchester yet all are on their Fixed 1 Year Plan.
