HELP Me E.ON Customers?

I'm a E.On customer, not by choice but because I've just moved into a new house and as such I'm contractually bound to whats called a "Deemed Contract" as the previous occupier was a E.ON customer. I didnt have any say in this contract nor in fact did I know I was a customer of E.ON's until their first bill arrived. I'd believed I'd arranged with Npower to take on my supplies.

Anyway, E.ON have placed me on their E.ON Energy Plan which I believe is there standard tariff.

As off the 18th Jan (after their price rise) I am being charged 14.09p per kWh for electric and 4.15p per kWh for gas and I'm interested to know what other people are being charged per kWh for their electric and gas?

I've asked E.ON so I could compare their rates for their other tariffs, namely the
A) E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v6 tariff and
B) E.ON Energy Fixed 2 Year v5 plans?

but their not able to tell me in such simple terms and insist that i gain quotes via their website based on my usage etc which is quite time consuming etc hence why I'm asking you guys. personally I dont understand why E.ON cant be more open about their pricing especially when they only have 2 other tariffs available to me.

If you don't wont to display your prices and tarrif openly below then please feel free to PM them to me where I will compare and then delete.

Many thanks
Tony

So instead of taking 30 seconds to do it yourself you want some other mug to spend 30 minutes gathering 20 x 4 + 20 combinations and trying to format the text readably for posting to a forum?

I suspect the 30 seconds route is the more sensible.

(Okay, concession, Eon are one of the companies that force you to supply an actual address before giving you a quote (instead of just a postcode). I agree that is wrong and grotty behaviour. At least you are already a customer! (albeit unwillling))

Do what everyone else does, put in your most hated neighbour's address.
  • E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v6 tariff is Eon's cheapest tariff as stated on their website and better value than the standard tariff.
  • Would the OP care to tell us which nPower tariff it is they're switching to? And there expected usage over the coming months, along with the expected "overcharge" by the deemed supplier?

They seem to feel that standard tariffs are a way of an energy supplier "charging what they want" and fail to realise that the energy market is an incredibly competitive market, and that suppliers are mainly compared based on their standard tariff rates, and therefore have a duty to keep the standard tariff rates at a "reasonable" rate. More recently, the difference between the standard tariff rates and the cheapest tariff rate is very slight.

  • What Tony doesn't mention is that he didn't even arrange to transfer until he'd been in the property for two weeks.

Tony, seeing as you were happy to use energy during this period, but couldn't be bothered to take the time to make 2 phone calls to establish who your supplier was, quite what do you propose?

You !!!!! and moan about being on the most flexible contract, I have every confidence that if eon had placed you on their cheapest option as a default you'd moan about being tied in to a product with cancellation fees.

I think deep down (and all the evidence points to the fact that) you're just gutted you didn't get away without paying for the energy you used before npower took over.

    Good morning Tony,

I just want to explain what happens when you move in to a new house.

The property will already have a supplier, (in this case E.ON) when people move in to new homes they need to let the current supplier know, with their details start reads etc.

Once you've got an account, you can arrange (as you have) to change supplier, this can take around 4-6 weeks though.

I'm not allowed to post prices on here I'm afraid, but it doesn't take long to look at on the website.

Do you have an online account? You may find it easier to register for this then look at the tariffs.

    Thank you

Just to be clear here! Your acusing me of attempting to defraud E.ON are you?

Duh No. What I want is for E.ON customers to look on the back of their invoices where it tells them what they are paying per kWh. Why E.on are unwilling to state this openly is beyond me.

Thank you for your response and in doing so keeping this thread active. I'm not entirely sure why you have chosen to respond as your clearly not able or have no interest in this thread other than to try and detract from the actual thread request asking for specific pricing comparisons.

What other people are paying is of no relevance unless they are in the same region as you so the easiest way is by using one of the comparison sites, www.energyhelpline.com has a nice pop up box with all the relevant info on for each tariff and you can have several of these boxes on screen at once.
