Long term free interest credit card after mortgage, when is it the best time for it?

Options
Hello,

I am about to open a mortgage with 10% deposit, the mortgage in principle is accepted, so I do not see many problem with it.

However to amortise some expenses right after I enter in the new house, I am planning to ask for a interest free credit card, probably the Sainsbury one.

I currently have an amex which I always pay in full (no debt), I recently closed an HSBC card which I always paid in full and I never do overdraft.

When do you suggest me to ask for the credit card? I.e. right after the mortgage has been accepted?

Normally pay recommended not to make additional credit applications until after you've moved in. The risk is slight but additional credit checks can be done at any stage of the process.
