Nissan Qashqi tailgate problem

Well if the tape seems to have fixed it, then it has to be an adjustment to the catch, but I would still suspect the shockers as they do cause a knocking at the rear end.0

OK, My OH took it in yesterday for the first AND LAST EVER TIME. He went in at prearranged time of 8am and was there for 4 hrs. He told them right at the beginning that he thought it was the tailgate catch as the insulation tape had stopped the knocking. They didn't even get around to looking at it until 10am. Then they insisted on putting it on the ramp and checking the whole car. That's OK if you give them the benefit of the doubt and think that they are doing a thorough job, but maybe we are all a bit cynical these days. OH just thought they were looking for something/anything to charge for. They did indeed find a hairline crack in the back brake light cover, and quoted £164 to replace it. OH said Thanks but No thanks. They adjusted the tailgate catch under warranty and OH came home thoroughly fed up. Anyway, they said the shockers were OK and indeed the knocking seems to have stopped at the moment. So it seems it was the catch after all. Hope this can help anyone who has a similar problem. Thanks to all.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0
