Hi Queenie
Sorry for the delayed reply - only just got the net back at home and I've been soooooo busy at work that I'm getting on for two mins before I'm distrubed on my "lunch break"
I'm making the lollies by using lolly moulds I bought in Sainsburys last week (£1.50 for 4) and simply pouring low fat yougurt into them and freezing them.
It's working well in many ways: I'm happy with DS having a yougurt with dinner as a dessert as he's getting the calcium, I get a tiny saving as 3 yougurts makes 4 lollies, and he sees it as a nicer treat than just a yougurt. I haven't pretended they're ice cream (he helps me make them) but we're lucky I guess that he's easy going like that. I know some children might refuse them just because it's not 'proper ice cream' :cool:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Am really pleased with how the challenge has gone for me - clearly I was just lacking motivation in the past. I have saved £31.29 this month (I know its only 13th but we are going on holiday on monday so it will be August by the time I get to make any more savings). Its absolutely amazing where savings can be made if you put your mind to it, though hubby was a little despondent when looking in the cupboards for unhealthy snacks and there weren't any -oops, I usually have baking done but my mind has been elsewhere - what to pack etc. He hasn't passed out from malnutrition just yet though so am not feeling too guilty. Hope all your months go well!If it seems too good to be true, it probably is, unless its from this forum!0

Hi all
Made my first saving today... Went to the local market for some fruit and ahve made some very decent savings!
Spent:
£1.50 on two large punets of strawbs (equiv of 3 Tesco punets)
£3 on two trays of grapes (half red, half white)
£1.20 one tray of cherries
Rough Tesco cost:
3x strawbs £5.67
Grapes - £7 (?)
Cherries - £3 (?)
Tesco Cost £15.67
PMS saving is £9.97
I know it sounds far fetched, but there really was an awful lot of fruit! Windy household on it's way me thinks! :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
