How do you know it was the candle overheating and not a flaw in the glass caused by you or the retailer dropping it/bumping it etc?0

Well obviously I do not know this for definite, but it was based on assumption on the basis that I never dropped or bumped the item and the way that the flame grew.
I lit the candle in the middle of a ledge, which was nowhere near said curtains. About thirty seconds after I lit it, it make a 'cracking' noise' and the flame immediately grew to about a foot or so tall. Before I could walk over to put the candle out, the glass shattered, the wax flew everywhere and ingnited right across the ledge, thus narrowly missing the curtains0 -
It sounds like there was some sort of accelerant on the ledge, like polish or fresh paint or something.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

If the candle exploded 30 seconds after being lit it wouldn't of burnt long enought to overheat (if a candle actually can overheat). It does seem as Peachyprice has indicated that some kind of accelerant was a factor in the candles exploding..anything could of landed on the candle/wick even perfume being sprayed close by.0
