Hedgehogs run at about 4 miles per hour, and they cover a couple of miles a night.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

I had a visit from a little brown rabbit last week. I live in the middle of a town and have (what I thought was) a pretty enclosed garden. It sat under the trampoline for ages. I've seen in the countryside but never in town. I've seen loads more by the side of the road than usual though.
And aren't pheasants stupid birds? They just stand there, waiting to be knocked down! They don't run away like a normal bird.

It's because of Blue Peter! We were told not to disturb them when they were hibernating. We only saw them asleep, so of course we assumed they were slow. :)

Or was that the tortoise? :o

    Really?
    Where do you live????
  • I can't believe anyone can be this miserable, we love watching the bats in our garden. We sit out with the bats flapping around and they don't come that near. I can understand the hedge hogs and dog dilemma but the rest of it is just strange. It's called nature!!!!
Nothing to see here, move along.

    Agreed.

Bats are protected, facing habitat destruction and should be encouraged.

You might be gald of them in a few years time, when global warming, global transportation and prohibitive cost of fossil fuel based pesticides, means insects will be doing there best to take over the world.
