Search on MSE forums for MSE member "hachette" (without the quotes) and take it from there.

He would have had to sign a consent form prior to the operation taking place. This would have given the risk factors involved in the surgery, Infection being one of them.

It would be the same as My consent form was yesterday for Cataract Surgery, Infection was stated as a risk.

Almost impossible for him to prove came from Vets, could have come from Taxi seat, after he picked the dog up.

Let it go and enjoy your new family member
  • Think personally you should write a letter of complaint to the Vets. Then get an independent report on the vets actions done, which these days you can pay anyone to write what you want. Then go to the RCVS and complain there. When they rebuff it, just hassle them sending about 3 emails a day with the report attached to each email.

While all that is going on you need to try and claim on the vets insurance, your report fee, the cost of taxis and anything else this issue has cost you, please do not forget the Shock and Distress, the best bit about claiming for shock and distress is you can just pluck a figure out of the air. When they reply with a figure dont bother accepting it because it will be a insult to the pain and suffering your poor greyhound has had. Then email a complaint to DEFRA and also your local MP and No. 10.

When all that is done pop back for some more advice
