No different than posting comps here without asking the sites first

If I come across a competition on a small site which is new to MSE I do sometimes ask the site owner if they mind me posting the comp. They may not want to be swamped with entries or they may have questions they want to ask - because not everyone is familiar with our comps forum.

Usually the site is happy to have the comp posted but might stipulate no answers, or no posting of the email address for entries.
Sorting things like this out first doesn't take much time but does mean that no infuriated site owner descends on the comp thread threatening to ban everyone.

Good thinking lilias & I will bear it in mind for the future as a courtesy.
It is but a courtesy though isn't it & not a forum rule as was intimated on the other thread ?

It's as much a forum rule as it is to only be allowed to post while standing on one leg with your right index finger stuck in your left ear.
