I believe you have mis-read the post - when she mentions the admin rule she is referring to the no self-promotion posts.Thank you all who post.0

I am far from up to date with the do's and dont's of the board but I am with you and if it is the case then I can't see many bothering to post any comps at all as it is time consuming enough and to have to get permission would be too much hassle0

Cheer for that.
In all the comps I have posted to MSE I have never asked for permission from any site.
I have had a few pm's that have asked me to post their comps though I have advised them that such posting is not possible for me to do & have not posted.
One even offered an inducement to post their comp ie a pair of posh boots but I declined as it seemed unethical to do so.Plus if I was "caught" doing so by MSE admin I would be placing my membership of this forum at risk. That I am not willing to do.0 -
I also read it as meaning self-promotion is the admin. rule. Weeowens, in your post number 4, you haven't quoted the post verbatim. Your version reads as you interpret it in your first post. However, if you see the post in its entirety, then you will see that Chyna and I are right
"I think its pretty obvious sometimes that some members post their own comps here and its rare for someone to moan about that which is a bit hypocritical. As for the OP i also have no problem with sites posting their own comps on here. No different than posting comps here without asking the sites first and nobody gets outraged about that. As it is, its a rule of the forum and so shouldn't happen but sometimes wonder why some normal members get so angry and involved with it when it really doesn't affect them personally." .....
Members wouldn't get angry about us posting the comps. They positively love itThe anger and admin rule is referring to the self promotion.

I read it the same way as Chyna-s and Tea Pea Dee have, weeowens, but can see that the way the linked comment has been phrased leaves it open to interpretation either way.
Perhaps serenity2012 may respond when they come online0 -

That surely means that the member understands that MSE would have us ask permisson to post ?0 -

I hope that he/she will so we can be sure how we can go foward if Serenity2012 believes that each comp poster on MSE must have the " backing" of each site.
If so I am stuffed:rotfl:0
