Broadband new home

We will be moving into our new home next week and wondered should I order broadband now so we get it quicker. Or do I wait until we have moved in. Basically just need to know how long it takes for the modem to arrive and engineer to connect up (if needed) after placing an order for the broadband.

It depends on the area in the UK you are and what ISP & service you are going with.

A lot of the engineers just now who normally connect people up to broadband are swamped with all the faults due to adverse weather across the uk.

If you go with Virgin Cable broadband that will probably get you up and running the quickest.

For some other providers on ADSL service you will need an active phone line at the property before you can order broadband. Some can set up the line and broadband at the same time.

Some areas in the UK are waiting up to 3 months as mentioned on another thread here due to how busy the Engineers are with faults

if you know the date you will be moving in, then it'll be worth contacting them earlier, otherwise you could end up waiting awhile before they have a free slot.

i went with virgin and arrange the install for the same date as i moved in, and was up and running within hours of me actually moving
