My sister is a Hermes courier who delivers to (and collects from) a woman who makes a comfortable living by keeping a close eye on whatever clothes the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing! After Kate is pictured in an outfit she gets straight onto the website of Reiss/LK Bennett/whatever, orders a job lot, and then waits 48 hours for the item to sell out (they nearly always do).

She then lists the outfits on ebay (.co.uk and .com) for a handsome profit and watches them fly off her shelves!

How does she know where to buy them - just by seeing her wear them in a picture?

Is the Duchess in the habit of leaving the tags on, or the labels sticking out :D

I think you'll find that many people that 'follow' fashion will recognise a style, not me i hasten to add. The Duchess seems to favour a certain sort of shop as well, so it would not be difficult to see an outfit and narrow it down to maybe 2 or 3 shops at most and check their stock.

This says more about the people buying them on ebay than this enterprising woman. Why would anyone want to buy something because a Duchess is wearing it? Sense > People > Money.
  • Totally agree with all the above! Not sure I'd want to spend hours every day poring over royal photos, but each to their own.

I think soolin is right; it's not too difficult to find out where the DofC got a particular frock from (I think half the time the newspaper/magazine/website tell you anyway), and if it's 'posh' high street rather than haute couture then it's not hard to track down providing you're quick off the mark.

Everything she wears seems to sell out straight away - I have no idea if any other celebrities/royals have the same effect or if it's just her?!

Not all Ebay sellers hide their drop shipping antics:-

    Premier drop shop :D

I notice a recent neg says item was posted via a different method. Ooops - damn you third parties - letting sellers down :rotfl::rotfl:

I saw someone emptying a pound shop of socks the other day. I wonder if the Duchess as been wearing them :rotfl::rotfl:

Seller could have been using Fulfilment By Amazon which are sent out in Amazon branded packaging... but not necessarily sold on Amazon.

Yup, and relating back to the title of the thread, FBA goods are owned by the seller.

Mostly. There are some dropship companies who will dispatch via Amazon. Overseas companies will often send products to Amazon or other fulfillment centres in the UK and sell them via dropshippers.
