Watch for ebay sellers ordering cheaper from 3rd parties..

I wouldn't worry too much about it, as the seller would only make 89pence after fee's
Awful lot of work for nothing & you could claim INR, as I doubt there is any tracking
Is'nt that stealing!...In the end the seller has still paid out for the book and it's down to buyers to check feedback.0 -
I wouldn't be surprised if these sellers have fully automated systems to make these purchases and adjust prices. Free money, except for all of the risk of items not being available / lost / SNAD etc.[
But surely if the buyer claims the item does not arrive and gets a refund. Then the seller can just contact Asda to say the item has not arrived and please refund me. You wouldn't even lose the cost of posting an item. It is genius.
Not genius really as the seller would most probably just refund the buyer, because too many non deliveries under the same name is going to look suspicous to Asda.0 -

Some buyers don't care if the sellers are drop shipping, as long as they get the item they want at a price they are happy at. Some times the sellers get the items cheaper as they buy bulk or often and get the discounts which are sometimes passed onto the seller.0 -
Cannot understand people who do not carry out research before bidding on items.
Yesterday I was looking at an item on ebay that was selling for 11.95 + post and packing, did an online search for same item, lowest price and first hit was the same item for 10.50 with free post and packing, from the same seller.
I've paid over the odds in the past for things, but if that's the price I'm willing to pay I'm happy0 -
Ebay don't permit you to list items you don't have in stock.
Considering it only takes one disgruntled customer per 200 to lose TRS, and a few more can have your account restricted, it only takes a few customers to take revenge via stars for their mistake when they see the invoice to lose your account on a few pence per sale.
A viable business for some perhaps, but one I don't think would be for me - when you're not in direct control of when what you are selling is being posted, that's a recipe for disaster.0 -

Sad but true. A buyer too stupid to shop around could still put someone out of business with a vindictive star rating. Crazy, but true!0 -
Yes, but anyone running a business needs to be aware of things that could annoy their customers. They disregard this at their peril. I don't think sellers like this have much of a long term future.Sad but true. A buyer too stupid to shop around could still put someone out of business with a vindictive star rating. Searching around for books takes time, that's partly why some sellers get away with higher prices. However, some sites like https://www.bookfinder.com search many places then gather together and sort the results for you. It works for new and old books. There's others too, and google shopping works for books as well.0

My boss left negative fb and presumably stars for someone doing this when his parcel arrived from Amazon. Not because he could have purchased the item cheaper from there (although it was), but because he is actively boycotting amazon, so was not impressed that his purchase came from there.
It's not just people too lazy to shop around, but that people have reasons for not wanting to use a particular retailer."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Drop shipping from other retailers should be banned, the buyer has no control over stock, and is essentially conning customers if they don't tell them what they are doing imo0
