So its been a few months since i last posted, life has been pretty hectic. I've been doing so much overtime recently usually working over 60 hours a week, hence why i haven't had time for updates.
Anyway we haven't made any significant OP's since august, only £70 a month.
We have however booked and paid for our 2015 holiday to Florida, with spending money it will come in at about £5000. I do appreciate that its a lot of money but we have worked so hard this year and i think we deserve it.
So the next few months will be focused on saving up our spending money for the holiday and then Christmas. I'm hoping to be back ready for regular over payments in January.Overpayments Target for 2015 £2170 / £8000 27.1%

Slightly delayed as i did intend to get right back on track after christmas, now into February i'm finally back!
Now the Florida holiday has gone slightly over budget and is all wrapped up at around £6000 EEK! However it will be an amazing 2 weeks and we both cant wait until May.
I've been making very small monthly OP's for a few months to allow us to get our savings back up. We have 2 123 accounts and like to keep them at the max that we can get 3% interest on. I had a £6000 ISA mature last week which is now in our 123 as the interest is better (even after tax) so our savings are almost maxed out. Time to ramp up the overpayments, which as of March will go up to £600 again.
One money saving breakthrough of the new year is that i've finally managed to get DH to get rid of Sky Sports, YAY. He only ever really watched the wrestling and now that WWE has launched its own network we have switched to that instead. This means no more Sky Sports or Pay Per Views which which used to cost us up to £50 a month, instead we are now paying just £9.99 a month!Overpayments Target for 2015 £2170 / £8000 27.1%

A convention in Milton Keynes which will probably cost about £200 ish.
Hi! Just found your diary and reading through with interest
Looking at the dates of this post, I think I was at the same convention?? :hello:
Jealous of your holiday! It's awesome you managed to OP so much last year, and enjoy yourself by saving up for a holiday too. Sounds like the perfect balance
Equally jealous you achieved the ultimate (to me) goal of getting your DH to downgrade sky. That's my monthly struggle with my OH. He watches WWE too (I used to until they changed to the 3 hour format which kind of ruined it for me - the story lines were seriously repetitive when they only had 2 hours to fill!) but with him watching other sports, I can't use the Network as a bargaining tool

When I saw £5k I thought thats a lot, now £6k what are you doing that costs that much?
It don't matter what you spend if you get value/enjoyment but over £200pppd gets hell of a lot in the US.0 -
Thanks for reading folks!
Cinny91- if it was a showmasters convention then yes it was the same one. Usually spend loads at these but so far the guests announced for this year arent really making me want to go.
BTW it has taken me nearly 4 years to win the Sky Sports war lol.
getmore4less- yeah it is a lot of money but we really have gone all out for once with this holiday doing everything we want. We are staying at Disney's Caribbean beach resort and the Hard Rock Hotel which are both quite pricey. We have also booked discovery cove, photopass packages, dinner shows, character dining.....the list goes on.Overpayments Target for 2015 £2170 / £8000 27.1%

Hi Geek4life, your holiday sounds like it is going to be superb, I am a big fan of spending money on experiences rather than "stuff".
Great progress on your mortgage too xxMFW

Reporting in with a £1000 overpayment for this month yay!! I'm actually starting to make a dent in my yearly target now.
However DH has recently changed jobs (again), it is much more secure as he is now in the civil service but in the short term he will be earning slightly less. I have also started to cut back on the overtime at work as i was just far too exhausted all the time.
As such i think our overpayments may soon fall to about £500 a month but i may use savings to top it up a bit.
On a lighter note we now only have 26 days to go until our big Florida holiday. Hello carefree spending!!!Overpayments Target for 2015 £2170 / £8000 27.1%
