    Probable the above is incorrect. My car's 1st M.O.T. was carried out two weeks before it's due date, along with the 3rd service.
    No V5C was required and the expiry of the certificate is 12 months from the first registration date. So two weeks "extra".:)
    Are you thinking of subsequent M.O.T.s when the old certificate was needed for the extra time, pre computerisation?

    Probable the above is incorrect. My car's 1st M.O.T. was carried out two weeks before it's due date, along with the 3rd service.

    By the dealer, who would have had all the first reg date details on computer...?

    Thankfully the overly-expensive "technology" is finally getting the heave-ho and MOT stations will be able to buy their own, compatible hardware shortly.
