1st MOT Before Due Date

Probable the above is incorrect. My car's 1st M.O.T. was carried out two weeks before it's due date, along with the 3rd service. They can only add the extra time on to the first MOT if you take the V5C with you, so they have proof of the first reg date.
No V5C was required and the expiry of the certificate is 12 months from the first registration date. So two weeks "extra".:)
Are you thinking of subsequent M.O.T.s when the old certificate was needed for the extra time, pre computerisation?0 -

By the dealer, who would have had all the first reg date details on computer...?0 -
The date of first registration is readily available

If you take it to an MOT station which still thinks this is cutting edge technology
then I guess they might need the V5C.

Thankfully the overly-expensive "technology" is finally getting the heave-ho and MOT stations will be able to buy their own, compatible hardware shortly.0
