Credit card harrassment - who do I complain to?

in Credit cards
When I write letters I receive no response. Is there a regulator or Ombudsman who can help?
I have had one specific credit card for about 5 years - indeed I spent about £5,000 on it last year.
It stopped working in November and on calling the card issuer I was told that someone has fraudulently tried to change the address on the card.
I have called and written for 3 months - and in between received dozens of calls which are possibly from the issuer; only I refuse to provide personal details to someone who calls me as I would like to call back to verify the person really exists.
Right now I am scared by the number of calls I receive and because I have not had a statement since November (because of the change of address) that my credit rating may be damaged.
Any suggestions?

Worth checking your credit reports.
Was there a balance (of yours) on the card that is unpaid?
Have you sent the letters recorded? have you headed up any as 'formal complaint'?
If writing again you might want to include a letter to say that you will only communicate in writing and to ask them to stop telephoning you - some of the wording from this Harassment by telephone
You could write to the financial ombudsman to complain.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
have you said to the person what is your name, your staff id? if this is the bank - and it is common practice to call a person claiming fraud - and you are blanking them then you arent helping yourself.
if they give you details that you can contact them through the main customer services number then call them back! you can always ask them to give you the cost of the phone calls back. how many times have you called them? when they said someone had tried to change the address what did you say? what was the result? did they believe you were the card holder?
i assume that since you dont have a card that is broken for 4 months its not your main card?
it would also help to tell us who the card belongs to!
toooooo many questions here!2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0 -
November??!!
Write and send a letter by registered post.
Which bank or credit card company is it?0 -
Just a quick update, since I asked the card issuer (a Hilton HHonors card operated by Barclaycard) has provided over £300 of compensation and agreed that they did not handle the original problem or the later complaints correctly.0
