This is happening time after time, not only with PE but with other PPCs. You would have thought that if they are so confident about their case they would make a robust case. But, of course, they know that GPEOL is always a killer point and they just rely on enough members of the public to believe their stupid propaganda and just pay up without question . It's a numbers game.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

You'd think so. When they said the POPLA code they pad it out with all this scare mail about cases they have won against GPEOL etc, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

So I'm right with just starting off sending a soft appeal such as this (courtesy of Redx)?

Depending on how much fun you want to have with this, why show your hand so early? For my invoices, I just said I didn't recognise their authority to legally issue invoices, forcing them to issue a PoPLA code. Then I hit them with both barrells to the point that they cancelled them almost immediately.

For me, it's a drop in the ocean, but collectively, the longer we drag it out, the more it costs them for nil gain.
