They are not even defending POPLA claims at present on GPEOL, this is because they are cherry picking the ones they can win at POPLA and writing the others off to save money.
As the ones they lose must make up no more than half of one percent of tickets issued, it is a viable loss to them to simple not put the effort in and spend time and staff wages preparing case files.

Yep, here's a typical current outcome:

PE now throw in the towel at POPLA when they see a decent POPLA appeal from a forum.

  • How long does a reply from them usually take? I sent my appeal online on the 19th Feb and then posted a paper copy too beginning of the week and no reply.

The BPA CoP allows them 35 days to consider and respond to an appeal.

    Take a chill-pill. :)

You will get away with your flagrant disregard for other peoples' property, but only because they are being greedy, and lots of people on here take exception to their greed.

Be a good boy next time and pay up.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Spoke too soon and got home today with a letter from them with the POPLA code on there!

So now just adapt an example POPLA appeal linked in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread. Nearly ''scam over''!!

  • I know it's been a while, been a hectic month with family issues and work, but I've spent the last few days properly researching this and finally got my POPLA appeal setup.

Just wondering if TracoPower's concise version here: moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4790822 (can't post links) is still a viable appeal to send (amended with my situation, of course), or am I best with a "throw everything at them" approach?

I prefer the 'throw everything at them' appeal. And tracopower's one wasn't great re 'unclear signage' and 'ANPR system flaws' which other versions are better on.

Either way I expect PE will give up when they see 'no GPEOL and no standing'!

Received my appeal decision today and it's been allowed :) Been two weeks after the original appeal date, so was getting worried a bit, but it's all good. Thanks to all of your help!

ParkingEye failed to produce a copy of the charge notice and any evidence.
