O2 Online Pay & go

Anyone on the O2 Online Talk Anytime Pay & go tariff ?

My Daughter has a Sony Ericsson locked to o2 and is currently on the pay and go original tariff which is 35 pence per minute for standard peak calls , 10 pence off peak and calls to other mobiles are 50 and 30 pence.

Looking on the O2 site it says that if I text TALKANYTIME to 21300 then it will change to 25p per minute for the first 3 minutes and then 5p per minute after on standard calls and 40p per minute for other networks mobiles but I will also get 50 minutes with a £10 top up every month.

What I'm unsure of is does the £10 top up just pay for

1. The 50 minutes , i.e use 50 minutes and you have no credit left or

2. You have £10 credit to use after your 50 minutes or 1 month from time of top up has gone ?

If the answer is 2 then say the phone was used for two months , 1st month using the free 50 minutes and the 2nd using the £10 credit on the third month when I top up with £10 again will I get the free 50 again for that month and so on ?

The answer is 2. Basically, as a "thank you" for topping up, o2 will give you your free allowance (whether its the minutes or texts) and you still get to keep your £10 as credit on your phone to use as you like.

If you used 50minutes first month and second month used the credit then when you top-up in your 3rd month you'll get your minutes again.

It generally takes upto 48 hours to get the free mins/txts but most of the time it's sooner than this.

There is one thing you need to know and that is the 50minutes will only ever be given once in a month from date of topping-up. So if you topped-up on 1st July then even after using your minutes and topping-up again, you wouldn't get any new minutes until 1st August as the 1st of the month is known as your anniversary date. If, however, you don't top-up second month but do so on third month then your anniversary date will be whatever date you topped up on in your third month. This is because there is a gap of more than a month between top-ups.

You can actually top-up £10 on 1st July and then again say 7th July and you would get your 50mins for two months. However, don't top-up by £20 on say 1st July because you wont get your two months then as the top-ups have to be on separate occasions.

    Does this help?

you can find out how much minutes you have left by calling the topup line (usually hotkey 3)

I'm fortunately on the old online tariff so for £10 I get 100mins/texts

Fortunately, I'm on the older tariff of 300texts and 150 off-peak xnet minutes for topping up by £15.

The tariff I'm on didn't last long before they realised it is financial suicide for them so changed it to 100minutes and then it dropped down to 50mins.
