If you want your money, have you considered doing what you are required to do for it?
I know that you think that it's unfair that there are conditions on your handouts, but there are, and they are not going away.
It's pointless not doing what you have to, and then complaining after you are sanctioned.
Er, Red Devil was not previously told ne needed to apply for x number of jobs per week.
JSA seem to have moved the goalposts without informing Red Devil prior to this.

Aye, it seems shocking that someone on JSA is expected to apply for all the jobs they can without being told.:cool:0 -
It's their job search, not the advisors. The expectation of having to be told every detail for something that is quite obvious is a lazy mindset, as is blaming others for their own failures and omissions.mattcanary wrote: »Er, Red Devil was not previously told ne needed to apply for x number of jobs per week.

Anyone seriously and actively seeking work would automatically accumulate records and evidence of such and therefore be able to demonstrate reasonable level of searching.0 -

It doesn't matter how high or low the 'X' number is, there is a little bit on everyones JSAg that says you must apply for any job you are capable of.
The 'goalposts' haven't moved but not everyone is fully aware of them and their potential effect.0 -

The number of jobs they applied for is irrelevant as there might not have been many suitable available at the time (we don't know if the 200 jobs the adviser found were suitable as OP is not allowed to see what they were). That leaves the fact they had to search for jobs and send spec letters in their time, OP has not said they didn't do this.
Thanks, you have understood the situation well.:footie:0 -

I would take the appeal to tribunal, as they are independent and a bit less biased than the Decision Makers.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Thats why you should really ask to know what they are expecting or you may think 10 is enough and they may think 100 was what they are really looking for per week.mattcanary wrote: »Er, Red Devil was not previously told ne needed to apply for x number of jobs per week.

Thank you for that saintjammyswine, I think I am out of touch with these things as I've previously been employed in admin roles for nearly 40yrs before being made redundant 13 months ago. I thought that due to my age (56) that catering might be an option to go into, but the adverts I have seen require a "food hygiene certificate" This has answered my query - thank yousaintjammyswine wrote: »There has been for years now, many FE Colleges have access to ESF funding but there is also direct funding available for people on JSA or ESA (WRAG).0
