With you it's a case of - Never say forever :rotfl:

We've always tried to stretch ourselves to jump 2 steps in one to avoid the high costs of moving.

    1. 2 bed flat in London suburbs
    2. 3 bed end of terrace in S. Hertfordshire
    3. 4 bed, 2 bath detached in same location (I thought that was forever home, OH had other ideas.)
    4. 5 bed, 3 bath detached in nearby but better location.

No plans to move anywhere bigger and this time he agrees.

  • We're just on our first step - in the process of buying 2 bedroom end of terrace house.

Don't know what the future holds of course, but we both see it as approximately a 5-7 year house. No kids planned for at least 4/5 years, so it should be fine for our needs for that time frame.

I'd expect the next house move to be to a 3/4 bedroom place with a bigger garden, and to be more of a 10 year house.

The dream would be to be to ultimately move somewhere detached with a bit of land - finances would probably make that the 3rd step if it is ever possible, but it's very up in the air at the moment. Right now, just buying one house is enough for me!

I am also looking to move to a larger house but looks like I'm priced out of the market.

I just don't want to move to a house which is just slightly larger (which I can afford) than current one but want which is a considerably larger (i.e. proper family home so that no longer need to move) but I can't afford the later one.

My own house is rising in value but my next house is rising value in much faster way. For this reason, I want house price to calm down even though I am a home owner myself. :p

So looks like I am stuck in my current house for foreseeable future.

I'm in the same situation, I can't see us moving until my DH retires and we can move into a completely different area.

The first home I bought was a two bed terrace, it was lovely and everything inside was new, but after a year I had to move due to family reasons.

Second home a three bed semi-detached house.

Third home, a three bedroom bungalow with two bathrooms.

Fourth and current home a two bedroom flat.

Hopefully we will be making step five soon, we only moved here due to our sons health, so as soon as we can we will be putting our flat on the market and moving back to Wales.
