Car identification

May actually be glad of being ticketed on the same day as the hit and run as the PCP companies photos shows a dark car parked next to me and my damaged wing also has dark paint on it.

Any ideas of what this vehicle is?

Looking at the the chrome mirrors and alloys, I'd say an Audi S4/6 Avant
  • Is that the damage from last months thread?

You cant see the damage in that photo but yes it is from the incident 3 weeks ago.

The police say they've looked at the CCTV but you cannot see the incident. The investigating officer is on training at the moment and so the person I spoke to only had the file notes to go by so they couldnt say if it was a case of the camera not facing the right way at the time or if the car doesnt appear to hit mine or what.

Sounds like a non starter either way then.

Possibly, depends exactly what the CCTV shows and if the O/S/R area of the vehicle has relevant damage.

If it does, at the end of the day its worth a punt with their insurers and I am sure the Credit Hire rate of £425/day may accelerate the process. A replacement was estimated at 5 days and that assumes the part comes in on time etc, suspect something would slip so the weekend ends up being in hire too.

And what if it wasn't that car that caused the damage?

Then the claim would be rejected and I end up paying for the repairs myself just like I'd have to if I didnt attempt a claim.

Ultimately claims come under civil law which only has the hurdle rate of "on the balance of probability" (rather than criminal law which is beyond reasonable doubt).

If the CCTV footage shows them as the only vehicle parking next to me, photos show them next to me, damage to both vehicles in corresponding places, dark paint on my car, their vehicle is dark coloured then its may get over the 50% chance its them required to win a case.

As I say, step one is to locate the vehicle and see if it has any marks on the o/s/r corner

That's why everyone else's policy gets screwed.

Why do you need a car costing £425 a day?
