Problems with Vodafone

My son has received yet another letter demanding money from CAPQUEST (debt collection agency) on behalf of vodafone. He left vodafone over 18 months ago. Everything was fine, then 4 months ago, he got a bill from capquest, outstanding arrears of £48, as he was no longer with vodafone, he couldn't access his online account to check this out, nor could he get through to vodafone, so he just paid the bill. Then on 22nd January he recieved another bill from vodafone for £47.41. He phoned and was told it was an error, his account was cancelled. Then on 12th february, he got another letter from Capquest asking for £47.41. He phoned vodafone again, this time he was told that it looks like his old number has been given to someone else, and because they are not paying their bills, and because my sons' name is linked to this number he is being held responsible!!!! Capquest even had the audacity to text MY mobile phone asking my son to contact them, how on earth they got my mobile number I don't know!!!! My son was told that he owed nothing, and that he should never have paid the 1st bill he recieved. I put a post on vodafone facebook website detailing all this and it was deleted within minutes, Its a pity they couldn't sort this situation out as quickly. We're now having to wait 3-5 days for someone from vodafone to get back to us, hopefully telling us its all sorted, but I just wanted to say how angry I am that firstly my sons' name was past on to a debt collection agency, when he had no debt, secondly, how it is possible to give some ones old number away, yet still hold them responsible for the debt, and thirdly how they have the nerve to text me about it, I'm not even with vodafone!!!!
MESSAGE FOR LEE; VODAFONE REF 6132298. thank you

  • Don't wait; hell will freeze over before they call back. Follow the advice in post 6 - the Web Relations Team are the ONLY people in Vodafone who a) Care b) Genuinely try to sort things out and c) Actually do what they say instead of the complete opposite.

Thankyou mobilejunkie. I did as you suggested, but think there is a problem with the website. Screen went blank after I pressed send. Will try again later. Thanks again
