I think lee111 is correct as I think I had to give 30 days notice to Sky for my last move.
Indeed, the last time I moved home with my parents they couldn't get a phone line or the internet in for two weeks as the ever so nice people they bought from contacts BT to say that they weren't moving!!0 -
We also weren't able to activate our phone line when we moved to our new home as the vendor's line wasn't scheduled to deactivate until two weeks later. As you've exchanged, I wouldn't worry.0

...and on the other hand, when we recently moved I gave BT weeks and weeks notice that we were leaving the property and they didn't sort it out - it took months and loads of calls to complain from me before they released the line to the new owners of our house.0 -

you only have tio give 30 days notice for cancelling, not for moving, sky also do free moves for all customers, including a fitter coming around and fitting a new dish if needed, its all free.
I booked my move with sky and booked the date with only 2 weeks to go till the move in date, they ok'd everything0 -

As you've exchanged, then I'm sure the 25th will happen - although I can understand it will be anxious for you until you've spoken to your solicitor and got him to ascertain from the seller's solicitor what the seller thinks is happening.
The seller's solicitor will read his client the riot act about completing on the 25th!
My solicitor has told me he can't do anything, he said he emailed the vendors solicitor and sent them my email and picture of the sky txt message, he said he cant do anything, he said i should contact the estate agent. Which i did and got no reply... which is what i thought i'd get as they have their commision now so no need to work extra lol0 -
If they don't agree to move out on the agreed date then they are in breach of contract. As long as you pay the balance on time, you have a legal right to occupy on the day of exchange-so tell them that you intend to exercise that right. If they refuse, it will cost them dear.No free lunch, and no free laptop
