I'd agree with this, depends how close he is going to be sitting to it but I'd say 32 as a min.0 -
I got my daughter a 2nd hand xbox from Game before Xmas - 250gb, I think I was just over £120. She has it in her room but her TV is a 22inch I think, but she's happy with that, she isn't aware of the graphics and whatnot.
Be aware though you will need an xbox live subscription and whilst she doesn't play online with anyone, she likes to watch minecraft videos on youtube, therefore you need a subscription.0 -
I bought my ds an xbox 360 arcade console about 5 years ago, which is still going strong! I would recommend buying a decent headset - ds has a Turtle Beach one which was about £30 from Argos and has a 12 month guarantee. It is a good solid headset - we have bought him cheaper and flimsier versions before from Asda for about half the price, but they break very quickly. But be aware the sound quality is so good that he can never hear me calling him from downstairs!0

Bear in mind that the xbox 360 was released in 2005, and while they might still be producing games for it, this won't last for much longer. If you're buying a console as a special gift for a child not far off their teens then surely the newest one would be the best investment.
Microsoft have said they envisage 3-4 years of life post Xbox One launch & even then you'll probably still see stuff like FIFA coming out in 5 years. To put it into context, FIFA 2005 came out on the Playstation & FIFA 14 was released on PS2 believe it or not - so there will be support for a couple of years.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Don't forget about the parental controls you can set on the 360 (and on the Xbox one probably)0
