Are you sure the issue was caused on your ipad, not on your computer?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
  • I only really use my ipad(so know it happened on there) and did set up 2 genuine transfers earlier in the day so that's why I wasn't as suspicious as I may have been otherwise. I use wifi that is secured at home with a password. I guessed the fraud happened from the screen I mentioned as it mentioned transfers and the fraud department said it has happened before. Thanks

This makes no sense to me at all. If you were on the real Halifax page, and then the rogue page appeared, and you were on your Ipad with a secure internet connection, then the rogue page came via Halifax, and I am sure this was not the case.

Since Apple only allow software they have checked an approved onto the App Store, then you won't get a virus using 1.

There are numerous confirmed reports of spyware making it's way in to approved apps in the App store, there is no reason for a virus not to do the same.
