Halifax accounts disappeared online!

  • Mine was OK earlier, but now I am seeing a Bank of Scotland credit card which is not mine.

It may actually be one that I closed back in early 2012 as the limit is the same.
  • It is impossible to get through to anyone about it.
They put me through to a Lloyds number, then another closed office which just hung up.
Even the 'stolen credit card' line (for emergencies only) just keeps ringing and ringing. On hold 15 mins so far.

Glad it isn't a real emergency - what terrible service from halifax!

Ok, got through to them and they have confirmed a 'system glitch' is currently causing old credit card accounts to pop back into view on peoples online banking screens.
    They should be removed tomorrow.

I didn't recognise it as an old card of mine, but they say it is.

As expected in my previous post, we've all been moved to the Lloyds system. Phoning the Halifax number of 08457 28 38 48 yields no automated balance etc, whereas phoning the Halifax 08459 444 555 "if your Card number begins 525303" number the automated system works even though my card does not start with that.

noticed my cc now says clarity
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • My current ac and mortgage is fine but a mystery credit card ac is showing which I never asked for and don't want. Have called about it but they don't know when they can remove it!!

It appears we've all been moved onto the Lloyds system overnight. The payment screen now shows the Lloyds Bank sort code (77-something) instead of the old Bank of Scotland one.

Maybe now we can finally get contactless cards as these were only available on the Lloyds system.....

I've got a contactless card for my Reward and Ultimate Reward accounts ... have done for some time?

Only credit cards on the Lloyds system with a card starting with 525303 have been able to get contactless cards. Those credit cards on the old HBOS system (cards not starting 525303) haven't been able to get a contactless card yet. I'm going to ask for one on my account now the system has changed, but only after I've completed a house move later this week.

As for current accounts, these have been on the Lloyds system since the transition in September 2010 (or was it 2011)?

I asked and they said no.
I would have to close my existing one and apply again apparently.
    So much for the upgrade.

This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com
