I had the same free car deal from Virgin. Extras we $68, annual car hire excess insurance covered the CDW part. I asked the excess insurance company I used to confirm this which they did.

Still confused by this. I have a Thomson free car for holiday in July.

I have taken out car hire excess insurance separately

    Thomson say compulsory

    Alamo say 'optional'

Is it just a case you just have to show you have CDW /TW insurance cover or are Alamo going to make me pay $25 a day :(
interested to know how greenbyker got on?
