EE Changed Signal
I'm not sure if this is the right board but I'm just looking for some advice.
Where I work, there is an EE mast close by, and one further away at the top of a hill. For the past 3 years, I've had a perfect data connection at work. In January, it stopped working, and after lots of digging, it turns out that they have made some changes to the mast on the top of the hill and the signal no longer reaches me - unfortunately, because the line of sight is clearer (I assume), my phone, and everyone else on EE in my building, connect to the mast which is further away. This means I get calls and texts but no data throughput at all.
EE have me over a barrel as I'm in a contract for another 18 months - I would not have renewed if I did not have a data signal at work as it's where I use my data most (I have broadband at home) and I don't use calls/texts that often.
I haven't changed anything at all, but I'm now in a position where I'm stuck with a contract which is not what I took out. EE say that they are only obliged to provide voice/texts so basically tough luck (not even an apology).
I realise they have changed the mast setup for a reason, and I think I'm going to end up getting a PAYG sim with three for £15 (unlimited data) - I proposed a reasonable resolution would be to cut my bill by £15 a month (I pay £45), but they flatly refused this. My usage patterns which I invited them to check clearly confirms that I use data far more than 2g services.
My complaints with an ops manager now, and then there's a further step in the complaints process before I can take it to CISAS - but is there any point? Can they really just change the goal posts and I have to just put up with it?
