I have m.e. as well as several other problems and my boyfriend is currently converting the back of his landrover so we can sleep in it if need be when out as I do get very weak and tired on the odd days I get out (in wheelchair for most) we have a tent with air beds, not used yet but no doubt will be a kerfuffle getting me up as have issues with standing.

Lots of sites have disabled friendly facilities so that side not so much of an issue and a damn site cheaper that hotels
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

Good luck with the tent and converting the landrover, did you know you can get air beds that are higher off the ground now? More bed height? Not too expensive if you shop around about £30-40 for a double.

Been outside today to our local country park with dog, seems like ages since we have seen any sunlight, it was really busy so everyone seemed to be making the most of it.

Our first trip is to a site close to Chipping Sodbury http://www.littlewoodcaravanpark.co.uk/about-us/ It used to be a private members site but now it is open to the public.
The reason it used to be a private members site is that clothes were optional .... and no, I never personally used the facilities :)

    Camper 'v' caravan

Unless you are going for the small type of camper that fits in car parks etc.. i'd choose a caravan so you can still use the car.

Perhaps consider hiring something to see what would work for you before spending out.. if you have to pay for storage etc it would soon get expensive, insurance and so on.

I personally think saving the money and using it for a B&B would be more practical but then it depends on your actual needs.. I am also not against keeping a blanket in the car and just having a quick nap.

    slightly off topic ...
what ive always wondered about easy access baths ( the ones with the doorss in ) whats the point if you have to sit in it, getting cold, while you wait for the water to drain in order to open the door?

This is the argument my OT came up with when I suggested I could save up for one. I have to say I think she is right and much prefer the wetroom, but I do miss a bath.

It all depends on how often you think you are going to go away in your van v B&B. Definitely agree about hiring one for a week, because it isn't for everyone.

For me it is like taking your home with you and everything you want is there. But we do use ours a lot and the weather doesn't bother us too much either.

It's just nice to get out and about even by not going too far afield you do discover things on your doorstep that you were unaware of.

You meet new people and it's all on the whole very friendly and sociable.

Well back from the first trip out this year in the Van :) A long weekend

We went to Lady Margaret's Park Caravan Club site at Chirk which is on the Welsh/English border.

Lovely site in woods right on the grounds of Chirk castle. A few slopes on the site and the toilet facilities are not as good as some but are soon to be upgraded. Lovely wardens though really nice couple.

Chirk castle is well worth a visit and although on a hill there is a mini bus with wheelchair lift to take those unable to walk right up to the entrance. It's the oldest inhabited castle in the Country apparently and dates back to Edward I. The paths and courtyard area were reasonably accessible.

The Llangollen canal is a short distance away and again the tow path was very well maintained and the Chirk aqua duct.

Chirk is situated between Oswestry and Llangollen both nice towns to visit. Llangollen has a steam railway and canal trips (one horse powered to the beginning of the canal) and the other to take you over the very large aqua duct at Pontcysyllte.

Chirk has a couple of large factories one a Cadburys and the other a woodchip factory. A bit of a plot on the landscape but not visible from the site, which is in a beautiful spot. Would definitely go back.

We had reasonable weather, Monday afternoon being the only really wet time and it was nice to see signs of Spring with daffodils, catkins and ferns taking life. A few hedges with green on too :D

Costs : 3 nights with Caravan Club Membership was £45 for two adults.
Castle Admission was roughly £10 each including gardens. It's a National Trust property.
