Can you pay for hard standing and what is the cost?
We have ours on the drive.
You can get storage for varying prices £300-500 for outdoor per annum.
Some people go for a seasonal pitch as well with tourers.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -

they had room for about 10 campers. i think they charged about £50 to house them from october til march/april time.
while there my father could seclare a SORN and nbot pay road tax, whilst knowing the camper was safe and secure0 -
in my parents case, there was a farm about 10 miles from where they lived, with a huge empty barn.

It's just something I'm looking at. Loss if light means no storing at the house and many friends have own families so no guest space. A motor home has been in our thoughts for a while. My own parents have allocated rooms with no space.
Ill look into this more, I thought it would be more expensive.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
A motor home will be a lot more initial cost to buy than a caravan. It's swings and roundabouts really.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0

it was about 15 years ago!.
saying that, if someone has spare land that they dont use ... then £500 a year income for doing nothing isnt such a bad thing0 -
We have a caravan which we use for all our family holidays and weekend breaks. Whilst I do not have any mobility problems, I do have a significant mental health illness and the caravan ensures that we can still enjoy holidays together. I need the the security and familiarity of the van whilst we are away. I am also happy to be left in the caravan on my own whilst hubby takes the kids to places I can't cope with (theme parks etc). It is a home from home for us all and we love it!0

know it well I'm originally from that area. My Dad lived there until he passed away 2 years ago.
Looks a nice site
Perhaps we could keep this thread so people can use it to give feedback on facilities for disabled people and how accessible it is or not?
We have a new Coachman, only used it once as we got it just before Christmas. Yes we have fixed beds, we did have an island bed Lunar but found it a bit of a pain shuffling around the bed area. So fixed twin beds with an end wash room give you a lot more space, ideal for disabled caravanner's as well.
What vehicle do you tow your Hobby with then?
Sorry I missed your reply.
Yes I was probably one of the first to buy into the new development in Yate back in 1973.
I too think that a thread like this would be of help to many that have caravans/motorhomes and are disabled.
What was it they used to say about a Lunar? Oh yes a leaky one!!! LOL
Coachman, very nice. I do agree with fixed twin beds it would be much easier especially with the end bathroom. None of this feet in the shower, sat on the toilet! It never occurred to me to consider a twin single. Maybe next time.
My vehicle, a Discovery 4. Best vehicle I have ever owned and driven.0
