This is aimed at all who have yet to take the steps towards bankruptcy.
The advice which is given on this site regarding BR should only be used as guidance. Many of the posters on here have been through the process and out the other side and so have some first hand experience BUT you should remember that the info we all give is only our experience. For the hard and fast rules, you must contact the debt advice charities.
Over the past few weeks I`ve seen several responses to questions from those in desperate need given some quite frankly wrong info. Whatever advice you are given here, ensure you check it with the relevant people, be that the IS OR or one of the charities.
Good luck to those of you who go down this path. It worked for me.

Well said tight jock!
Totally agree with everything said'What is right for one soul may not be right for another. It may mean having to stand on your ownand do something strange in the eyes of others. But do not be daunted,do whatever it is because you know within it is right for you.''Eileen Caddy'BSC: No: 790 -

Don't forget National Debtline.
They are run by a charitable trust as well.
The site is full of useful factsheets and letters, with the different laws/situation in Scotland catered for as well.
The advice over the phone is great as well.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I give it the thumbs up. Lots of factual advice as well as moral support. Non-judgemental too.

Im gonna stump up on this one.
There is a lot of AWFUL and INCORRECT advice been flippantly thrown around. No advice is better than wrong advice.
Please think before you post rubbish.
