Noddle - absolutely useless, thanks for the tip Martin :(

I'm sorry but as a very appreciative consumer of Martins advice over the years I am extremely disappointed with his suggestion of using Noddle credit reports.

I paid up £30 for Noddle improve as I was aware of some historic issues (now thankfully gone after 6 years) to keep an eye on my rating ahead of a mortgage application we are doing this month.

I should add I have spend 2 years as a member of experian and equifax and found they can be worked with to remove errors etc etc. With both I have seen my score rise to 'very good'.

Noddle however have me pegged at 1/5.

I cant phone them to ask why as they have an awful circular phone choice system to nothing

On email they are appalling.

There is no detail on the credit file as to how they are arriving at the score.

I leads me to wonder what it involves to start up a credit agency, as I dislike this start up, their out of date data and impossibility to contact.

Sadly, I have to question Martins 'independent' :money: advice or why else would he have pushed this terrible company.

A very very frustrated credit score watcher in need of noddle advice.

Mia

Martin sold the site some time ago. His name remains the branding for the new owners.

The 'score' means nothing to financial companies searching your file, they don't even see it.

It's what is within your info that counts.

  • Just use the free service, as mentioned the score means nothing just ensure it's accurate and that you are on the electoral roll.

Are you applying to Noddle (call credit) for a mortgage?

Where does Martin advise you to rip yourself off by paying £30 for Noddle? Just use the free report and ignore the score, as it's meaningless.

Also Noddle is just a free version of your callcredit report.

He doesn't say this anywhere. The OP is just making false claims.

The Noddle 'score' is a fantasy made up number anyway, just like the Experian and Equifax 'scores'. But because Equifax and Experian's fantasy 'score' has made the OP feel warm and fuzzy they are upset.
  • TheBoss - OP isn't making false claims, just expressing my concern at how Noddle score me/us. Read more than the post above your own and you'd have seen that.

Martin has suggested (historically..it was the only reason I had ever heard of Noddle) they should be used by those monitoring their score, as we all should.

I have ever right to be concerned when a company who paint a financial picture of me a wildly away from correct.

The reason Experian/Equifax scores are correct is that they are contactable, and act on information you give them. In my experience they have been good to work with on errors.

You try and get through to Noddle, impossible.

SO my true question is how can two companies have one 'image' of my credit score/worthyness and one be so different.

After several years of improving my score to find Noddle so far off is concerning in many ways.

For the record. I did not state Martin said to use the 'paid' for service, but I did so to gain access to benefits and because my score is so important to me at (with current house purchase). Martin did say to use Noddle, and they are a farce.

The point of this is to make others in my position aware, and to compare their Noddle report to others they have to see I they too are badly represented when other agencies show a completely different picture.

JKSandy - Not applying mortgage via Noddle?? but keen to check all my scores while applying.

May be important to you, but potential lenders don't give a **** what noddle says your score is.

They score by their own scoring model based on the factual data on your report and nothing else on it.

You are making a fuss about something that is utterly irrelevant to what you claim your aims are, which is the house purchase.

And where does Martin say it's important to monitor the Noddle score?

Again the score means nothing, you are the only person who will see it, lenders do not see or use the CRA scores, they use the data on the reports and ask for salary information.
  • Thank you for the advice on score, it seems to be the all important these days and you know what it is like when your hoping to buy a home and the thought that Noddles 1/5 rating could supper it is quite frightening. That not being the case it is a huge relief.

If I can ask a different question.

What is the point of Noddle, do they exist on taking subscription from the 'worried' like I have been? They must be relevant somewhere, and that still leaves me concerned as to their representation.

Taking note of a reply above, it seems that callcredit is the next agency to check my data with?

Thank you for the advice already...
