  • Morning all,

Hope you aren't too blown about. I hope there isn't too much damage to people and property.

We had a neighbour knock on the door and 7.45 this morning to ask if we knew anyone that could put his TV ariel back up (DH is a builder). Told him I'd send DH over later to look at it. Can't believe I got out of bed for that!!

DS2 is poorly with the cold, throat and cough thing that is going around. He has lost his voice with all the barking he did yesterday, so no work for him today.

Going to pop to the shops later for a few bits, DH has to look at a job and is going to drop me off at a charity shop I've never looked in before. Might find a bargain :)

    Keep well everyone.
  • Good morning everyone :)

Another wild and windy night here and torrential rain this morning. Hope it brightens up a bit later, just want to get out and get a bit of fresh air as feel a bit rubbish today.

Am on a bit of a self pity party but it's something that is completely my own fault, so I just need to work on getting past it and sorting out the problems I have caused :o

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a good day. TTFTM x

    Morning all,

A lazy start for us we had a late night. Once I've taken my meds we shall get the cleaning done and pop to Mr T's for a paper as we have a half price voucher for the guardian. Hubby reads it all week so good value.
Lots of lovely babies on the daily , congrats Hester on your new grand baby. We are just waiting to see who announces the next one, five and counting :D
Had a couple of tiny wins on the lottery, let's hope the third is a big one.
Busiscoming. Nothing I like better than a new charity shop. The thing I've missed most is going for a root round, hopefully I can go again soon.
Celebrating our Valentine tonight minus grown up kids, much more romantic that way:p
I'm going to attempt some baking today with my perching stool, we have a glut of eggs and apples so apple cake it is.
    Have a great Saturday x

  • Wild and windy night, but not too much damage and my free for gratis greenhouse has stood the test, it is tucked well in at the side of the big shed, safer than anywhere else in the garden.
Still very windy this morning, but at least it is dry and the sun has come out.
DH is taking the car down to the garage in a little while so we will be without a car for the weekend :( Burger it I wanted to go to Ikea today and get some more coal from the farm :( So stuck indoors for the whole weekend.

We had a nice meal last night and the steak was lovely and tender, I will get some more from the butcher next time I go, which will be next month now.
Even though we don't "do" Valentines day as we think that it is a commercial rip off DH bought me Doctor Who and the Moonbase on DVD, big softy that he is :D
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Morning all,

We seem to have survived the night with no damage which is somewhat of a miracle, the wind was like nothing I have heard before, I took the dog out for a last wee and heard an almighty crash and breaking of glass, I think it must have been next doors greenhouse. The lights flickered a few times but we did not have a powercut. Woke this morning to bright sunny sky's with a good breeze, might try and hang some washing !

Going to have a good tidy through and crack on with some painting (must get the wardrobe doors finished !)

DD's boyf is supposed to be coming down today but will have to see if the trains are running.

Takeaway for dinner, might get an indian looking forward to that. WM is on and doing its thing, will get dd to bring her washing down and get her to put it in.

Have good days all and stay safe !

    Morning all,

well the wind seems to have died down for now and the sun is shining.

Hubby came home last night with the manflu. Ive got him dosed up on medication and he slept well but I didn't as I was afraid to move in bed in case I woke him, though I am beginning to wonder if he's as ill as he says he is as first thing this morning he was pottering in his cold damp shed looking for something for the car.

Youngest daughter wanted me to have my Grandson this morning but I told her it wasn't wise (apart from that I don't think I can cope with 2 babies).

A big congratulations to my husbands nephew and his girlfriend on their first baby. A girl. So pleased for them. He has a history of depression and self harm and there has been such a change in him since he met his girlfriend.

Not sure what we will be doing about shopping yet. It depends on how he's feeling. Its times like this that I bet he wishes he'd encouraged me to take my driving test again instead of whining about the cost.

    Anyway, onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

Eventful night last night, I went outside about 11.30 to clear the snow off my car to go and collect DD from the station and locked myself out. No coat, phone or anything and the gas fire was on full! Had to drive round to find a police van who let me phone DD, I wasn't sure what train or station she was going to. Had to wait almost an hour for her and then her key wouldn't work as my key was in the back of the door (when our door closes, it can only be opened again with a key). Tried to get an emergency locksmith, only one out of 7 answered and he said it was too far. Phoned the police for help - I was concerned about the fire being on - the same crew arrived that I had spoken to earlier. One of them very kindly broke the window part of the door so we managed to get in. The emergency locksmith that they phoned turned up about an hour later! Anyway, I have bought some sticky back plastic to cover the broken pane till we get it fixed.

Hugs to those who are poorly and suffering with the weather, hope you are all safe. Blue skies here at the moment but for how long?!

Take care and have a good weekend. XX

Camelot what an absolute pain and lot of kerfuffle, for a momentary lapse of memory! When we had our double-glazed door installed, I insisted on having one that you have to lock with the key; I have a mortal fear of locking myself out, and with this, it can't happen. If I'm taking a canine guest for walkies at the same time Mr LW leaves for work, he insists I be the one to lock the door after us, to ensure I have my key.:o

Touch wood, the only damage so far for us is the felt off the shed roof (Mr LW is outside dealing with it as I type. We have thus far been extremely lucky. I hope the luck holds til after this dreadful weather ends (whenever that's going to be).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hi all,

Not been keeping up much this week, my evenings have ranged from going out for a colleagues farewell drinks and dinner :) to sleeping on the sofa from about 7pm due to feeling rubbish! :(

We've missed the worst of the weather over this side of the country but the wind has still been keeping me awake. I'm so tired all the time, I know starting to do some exercise would probably help, but I just can't make myself at the moment.

Popped into town today after dropping BF off for his hockey match. I was tempted by things in 3 shops but resisted and only came away with a new set of tea towels! :rotfl: They are needed though.

This afternoon I will get the DW and WM on, clean the bathroom then hoover throughout. I think that'll do :p

Hope no one has been too badly affected by the weather - lonewhitewolf glad you found someone to come and sort your roof out today, hope its an easy fix!

Stay safe, warm, dry and have a great weekend :j

  • Hi chums I went to aldi's in sittingbourne and they had some nice looking chickens for around a fiver so I bought one and its in the oven cooking as I type.I thought a chicken would be nicer tomorrow with sald and new potatos for my friend and her Dd I go to my DDs late afternoon for my sunday dinner so I'll be able to have just some cold chicken for lunch.whats left over I will use during the week for various odds and ends:):)Saves me making pastry today as well.I shall still bake some cakes though.I got lots of fresh fruit and veg and my fridge is stuffed full at the moment so no more shopping for me until the end of the month now.I also bought a nice small gammon joint that I'll use for sliced ham and chopped up in pasta .I saw several reduced price stuff in morrisons as well so definitely no more stuff to buy now for the rest of the month.I'm not keen on shopping much anyway so I'm glad I've got everthing in.
I saw several tree blown down on my way there and quite a bit of damage done.Still very windy here so i'm pleased I am safely tucked up indoors.just had my lunch of HM soup and crackers and pate so I'm now going to relax in front of the t.v. with my knitting and feet up.
Stay safe and warm if you can ,and dry of course
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
