I'm into the last month of my 3 contract and Ive been called up by 3 offering me:

-a new phone (Sony Ericsson k608i) and
-400 mins
-250 texts
-25 video messages/25 photo messages

All for £17.50 / month

Thats pretty poor considering Im paying £0/year after cashback (just waiting for my last cashback)

Are they likely to offer me anything better???

Comments

  • I've just spoken to retentions this morning and they offered me:

    Sony ericsson K800i on VTT1000 (£30 normally) for £20 a month

    Sony ericsson K610i on VTT1000 for £15 a month

VTT1000 only (no new handset) for £10 a month.

I declined their offers and am in possession of a PAC.

Back in April when I called through to retentions I got a really rubbish deal. I really wanted a SE W950i but they didn't have any in stock. Instead offering me a W850i refurb! That was shocking. Then they told me I wouldn't get any discount on my tariff but just a standard one whereas new customers were getting half price.
So I cancelled. They won't offer you anything better at all. They did try to tell me they would match T-Mobile and their flext plan, but then changed their mind and said they couldn't.

    Hi All
I too am in my last month with 3. I called on Tuesday this week to give my 30 days notice and was offered:

    SE K800i with 500 mins, 0 text for £20pm
    or
no phone, 500 mins and 100 text for £10

I declined both seeing as my current contract has only cost me £6.99 p/m after cashback on a 12 month contract with 450 mins and 250 text!
I've read on other threads here that some people have held out after giving their notice and 3 has called them with better offers. Maybe I've shot myself in the foot but will wait and see?!

'Veronica' (yeah, right!) insisted that Cashbacks were a bad deal if the company went bankrupt!

Also, she couldnt answer why new customers could get a better deal than what I was being offered as retention.

My sister just took out a '£15.00' for Life' contractwith 3 - and when I mentioned this, 'Veronica' said that 'well its for life, she wont ever be able to cancel' !!!!

Do they think we are really stupid!

For £7 per month on a 12 month deal.

I have rang about 3 times now to see what i could get and have been offered various things. The best i think so far which is what im going for is:-

    300 anytime minutes
    150 texts
    25 picture messages
    25 minutes video
    £5 free downloads a month

All for just £5 per month. This is without a handset but then we will just continue with what we have now.

These contracts are what my kids had about 2 years ago which started off through CPW as a full cashback deal (£30 per month) with a refurb Nokia 7600 (which they still have working). After the 1st year i rang 3 direct and we got offered a Sony Ericcson K800i free and also £180 credit on our bill for a 12 month contract. I did this and sold the K800i for about £180 so that it worked out they had the 12 months free (£180 credit and £180 phone covered the 12 month contract costs).

This time i have also been offered the E65 with 1000 texts, 3 or 400 minutes, 50 pic message, 50 video message and £5 free downloads for £20 per month. Was told this should be £35.
