Standard cost of Sky Broadband???

I have Sky B'band Unlimited (£10pm) and Line Rental (£15.40pm) and I've received a letter from Sky which says:
"As a Sky Talk customer, you benefit from a discount on the price you pay for your Sky Broadband. As long as you keep both services you'll benefit from a £5 monthly discount on your broadband subscription."
So I am expecting to pay £5pm for broadband but this didn't appear on my bills. I rang Sky about this and they said that the £5 discount is already incorporated, so I only pay £10pm. If I didn't have the line rental, it would actually be £15pm for sky broadband. Is this correct???
I have looked at sky's website and can't see anywhere that the standard cost of broadband is £15 and that this is discounted by £5 if you have their line rental too. And looking at MSE's page on cheap broadband, the table shows the standard price of broadband to be £10pm. Sky didn't want to know and told me it's £10pm and they can't do anything.
Are they correct, and is there anything I can do about it?
All help would be appreciated!

I just looked:
£10 (if I don't have Sky TV) = Broadband
£15.40 = Line rental
That offer is bogus.
Go through to their retentions department as they seem to (1) be English (2) know what they're talking about.
Get in contract with their Twitter team.

Sky Broadband Unlimited is £15 / month
£ 5 discount if you have Sky Talk and Line rental. i.e £10 / month
£2.50 discount if you have Sky TV i.e £ 7.50 / month. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hmm, where are you seeing £15 a month?
I add line rental and unlimited BB to my basket and it says it's only £10 with no discounts.0 -

Which agrees with the previous post.0 -
Thanks anotheruser - I've just seen the same thing written in their "offer" Ts & Cs.
"12 months half price Sky Broadband Unlimited: £3.75pm with Sky TV or £5pm for first 12 months, then standard pricing applies (currently £7.50 with Sky TV or £10pm)."
The way I read it is the current standard price of B'band unlimited is £10pm - it doesn't say "£10pm with Sky Talk / line rental" like they have a caveat for Sky TV - so they haven't reduced the price from £15pm to £10pm because I have sky Talk / line rental have they?
Penrhyn - can I ask where did you find that as I can't seem to find it anywhere..?0 -
I was going from what I used to pay myself.
On reflection I think you are correct.
Sky used to sell broadband as a stand alone for £15, and you could have this without having to take Talk and Line rental, or TV.
So it would be £15 / month but they no longer sell it that way!!!That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Haven't, people who took a special broadband only offer, on moving from O2, been told the price will be £15 when the 12 months offer ends ?0

1 Majority are actually Scottish
2 They do have more flexibility than sales -it's often not that other departments won't -it's that they can't
3 You need a contract for twitter ????I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
No but I find twitter teams are a little more helpful as it's a bit more public than a two way email / telephone call.
At least the companies I have contacted have been helpful anyway!0
