    The 25th date probably has something to do with royal mail claims procedure. I forget the exact timescale but RM don't consider something is lost until something like three weeks have elapsed. So they are probably hedging their bets - waiting to see if they will get a claim cleared by RM before they send out something else. Unless of course they are selling back to back on supplier orders - just an afterthought. But if they are selling back to back that could explain the delay if there has been a delay with their supplier.

    Another afterthought.... you could be covered by distance selling rules with this - if so you could cancel and get a refund. You need to inform in writing within 14 days of order - at least I think it is now 14 days. It used to be 7 but I read somewhere that it was increasing to 14 - just not sure when.
