And IA- if you have trouble with it sounding distorted, try turning the volume knobs down on your bass guitar, and checking your mixer input level (double click on the little speaker at the bottom right of your screen and adjust the input level- you might have to go into the options menu, then properties, and select "adjust volume for recording" )

Have tried the volume thing and although it sounds clearer it's a lot quieter... can you adjust the volume your end?

I can- don't worry about it being too quiet. I'll be doing all sorts of adjustments to it once you send it over- the important thing is that it's not distorted

cool... I've just listened to it back and I can hear the backing track very faintly in the background?? Not sure why... I've got the bass through the mic port and listening to it through the headphones output...

never mind sorted it.. turned the headphones down... must have been using the pickups as a mic lol

With the copyright thing - I think it's more because we'll be recording it - if they publish sheet music, then anyone can play/sing it - but it might be ok as we're not selling it we need a lawyer type person!

ARRRRRGH I'm so frustrated.. I'm so close to doing it 100% but everytime I record it I make stupid little mistakes!!!!!!!!!!

My boyf's cover band pays a fee to a royalty compaby for the use of songs. Not sure if there is any restriction. They have released a CD with cover songs, so it may be an idea to look into this for Money money money?

IA, don't worry if you make a couple of mistakes.. If you get the same bit right in a different verse, I'll be able to take the best bits and iron out the mistakes. It will drive you mad otherwise!
