Cut the orange juice! He'll just feel hungry. Have a scrambled egg. Orange juice is sugar and empty calories, eat the satsumas instead, both for vitamin C and for the time peeling and depithing them.
My advice, after losing 2st and OH losing 3, is to buy Mimi's book and use her recipes. I'd recommend reading the original book by Michael Mosley.
I'm maintaining now, usually just by eating my first meal around 1pm, usually porridge. Once into it, we found that our appetites had shrunk, like our bellies, and we find it quite easy.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Hello,
I'm interested in joining this board but it doesn't appear to have been used since January this year, over 8 months ago! Is it no longer viable, is there a continuation of the thread elsewhere or has everyone just got bored and toddled off to other threads?
I'm doing 5:2 and could really use some help and support.

I'm still happily maintaining my weight loss, using Michael Mosley's principles.
I do not want to lose anymore, so I do 16:8 every day, generally that means eating at around 1 pm. I still have the occasional 500 cal day if I need it. I weigh every day, with a 3 lb wriggle room.
Michael Mosley has a web site for IF, 5:2 with a good, supportive forum which you would find helpful, I'm sure.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I'm back on it...sort of. This week I managed get a couple of pounds inside the healthy weight band on the NHS BMI calculator.
I find that I need do 4:3 rather than 5:2 though if I want to lose weight at anything but a glacial rate.0 -
I follow the 5:2 way of eating permanently, unless I am away on holiday. I also do 4:3 if necessary. I still find it a really easy way of eating to keep to a healthy weight.0

Don't you find that you lose rather than maintain? Or do you eat quite a lot on non fast days?
We've just found that our appetites have changed so much that our portions are now much smaller.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Just started doing 5:2.
Lost 1lb in my first week, which I am very happy with :-)
Finding the fast days quite easy, saving my calories until evening meal, as I find the more I eat the more I want to eat, so spreading my food out throughout the day would just make me want to eat more.Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without0 -

I've been following 5:2 for a year, losing an average of 1lb a week. I also don't eat until the evening on fast days, but do have milk throughout the day for my essential must-have cups of tea (90 cals).
I found I also needed to calorie count on non-fast days (use myfitnesspal app), otherwise I would have just stuffed my face with bread, cheese and chocolate. Wouldn't do that now, but still calorie count just be on the safe side.
Good luck with your weight loss journey.0 -
