Nationwide refer a friend/Switching offer

Nationwide currently offering recommend a friend offer.

http://www.nationwide.co.uk/current_account/landingpages/RecommendAFriend.htm?intcmp=Intcmp_2191

Can I recommend someone who already has a Nationwide current account?
Yes, you can. If your friend has a Nationwide current account but they use an account held with another provider as their main transactional account (for example having their salary paid in or bills paid from), they can complete a full Current Account Switch, transferring at least 2 Direct Debits across to us. They will then qualify for the offer.

See also the offer's terms and conditions for more details regarding eligibility criteria.

I completed referral form yesterday waiting an email from Nationwide. Referred my wife, my father and my mother.

I think it's a good offer. The max you can earn is £500.

So...anything stopping us all from referring each other and transferring non-Nationwide accounts over for £50?

    Thanks for that.

I currently have two dormant FlexDirect accounts. The first is about to be switched to the Co-op for £100, and now I can switch one of my other dormant accounts (NatWest or HSBC) to the second FlexDirect account for another £50...and then close it! Just need to switch a couple of dormant credit card DDs on to the donor account first.

Nothing...but of course it would be against forum rules to tout for referrals on this board. ;)

I referred my wife, father and mum yesterday. Do you think will it be possible for any one of them to refer me and switch one of my dormant account to Nationwide?

Although we cannot discuss that on Bank Account board but we can discuss it here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4007993

    Thanks for this!

Am going to refer my mum tomorrow and set her an account up/transfer her Lloyds account.

With £2.5k in the FlexPlus and £50 for this referral, that means I'm practically getting all of the insurances for free. :)

Anyone received an email from Nationwide yet?

I done the referral on Wednesday and at the end of the application it said I should get an email within 1 working day. I still haven't received any email.

Criticism of this Nationwide 'invite everyone to join' policy appears to result in post deletion. It is obvious that paying out account opening bonuses means that there is less to pay out in interest.

My comments still should stand if my post related to a post that broke forum rules concerning promotional activities.

OK now I'm really confused. I got the email but there's no links in it. How is my friend supposed to sign up? Do they just make an account and switch in the normal way and their system will detect that their name and details match what I put in the recommendation form??
