DLA for child - none financial benefits.

Then you haven't been reading the posts on this site for the past 3/4 years. There have been many that actually rejoiced knowing that it would now make it more possible for them to claim DLA for their kiddie and receive a substantial award.
I have a friend who has a son with Downs Syndrome. He once said to me that he'd rather not have a disabled child, benefits and all the problems he has regarding being a disabled parent of a disabled child.
I imagine a lot of parents feel the same.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

So I am doing mt bit in reducing the drain on the Welfare budget - are you doing anything similar to help out or maybe you are suggesting that others follow suit? I doubt it.
Well bully for you. And no I am not and will not do anything similar. Not all the while MP's are claiming for stupid things, rich people and firms are avoiding tax and we waste £11bn a year on foreign aid and loads of dosh on no good IT systems.
So I intend to suck as much as I can all the while that is going on.
I suggest you phone up the big firms avoiding their UK tax liability and try and persuade them to pay what they morally should to bolster the exchequer. Go on I need a laugh. Let us know what they say!0 -
The only difference is that we are dropping our claims for benefits one by one. The first being my wife's Attendance allowance claim, she will not be renewing it after having had it suspended as they believe that because of the aids and adaptions that are now in place she no longer has the same level of needs. the second will be my DLA claim (HRM&MRC) when it comes my turn to be moved over to PIP. I believe that I will not qualify for the new benefit so will not claim it. Thirdly my ESA (Support Group) will cease in June as I will be 65. I will not be claiming my State Pension as I will not need that income. And finally my Guaranteed Pension Credit claim will cease as the 'Appropriate Amount' will be drastically reduced by virtue of the loss of the Attendance Allowance and Carers Allowance which is attached to it as well as the DLA and the Carers Allowance attached to that, plus they will reduce it further as they will deem that I will receive my State Pension when I won't.

So, your wife has had her AA suspended, you don't think you are disabled enough to claim PIP (although you cheerfully claim DLA at the moment), and your ESA will be replaced by your Retirement Pension (classed as a benefit as well). I don't believe for a moment you won't claim it lol....... ....and as your Pension Income Guarantee will drop anyway, by virtue of losing AA and CA, you are not giving up anything really - the state will adjust and reduce it!
I am sure you are also aware that at the point of reassessing your Income Guarantee, because of the AA loss etc., you are also aware that you would lose it anyway, by virtue of the large inheritance you said you had received a few weeks back.
I have always made it clear that I am fortunate enough not to need to claim any means tested benefits, because of private pensions, and an inheritance of my own, for which I am grateful for.
However, yes, I claim contributory ESA, and yes, I claim DLA - and I pay for all my care needs from them. I paid in for years, the NHS were basically the reason I am disabled, and I have no guilt about them at all. I have reams of medical evidence, I don't gave any problems with the DWP, and, unlike you, I don't worry that I am not disabled enough.
However, I do try to give a little back by trying to help others also get their entitlements, if I can - unlike you, who just seems to delight in proving how objectionable you are.

Oh for goodness sake! Talk about a narcissus complex! You're not making a claim for PIP, as you have said yourself that you wouldn't qualify, and because of that, you lose out on other things.
Regarding your wife's AA, if she doesn't need it, you don't claim it. Don't spout about you doing "your bit" in reducing the drain on the Welfare Budget. It's being reduced because you don't qualify.
This board is to help other disabled people find their way round the system. Not to defraud it, but to help them understand. After I posted about my Direct Payments yesterday, I had 3 PMs from folk asking where you start etc. I'm only too pleased to help them.
It beggars belief that a parent would prefer a DLA for their child, than to have a fit and healthy one. But in your case, your daughter cares single handedly for her child, but doesn't claim benefits.
So? Please stop distressing people who are making requests for help.

Hopefully, people will see that he is best ignored.

I have tinkles on ignore, the only problem is other people keep on quoting him in their posts but I just don't read what he writes. He manages to turn every thread he replies to into one about him, ignoring him is the best option.0

If you don't claim your SP, don't they just save it for you?
Not if you are claiming Guaranteed Pension Credit. I would get no benefit by deferring it. In fact if it isn't claimed within 12 months you lose it altogether. The State Pension isn't just paid to you because of your age, you physically have to make a claim to receive it otherwise it goes back to the Treasury.0 -
How would you advise someone who is caring for an Alzheimer's sufferer to "solve problems by other means"? My salvation is for my DH to attend a club for a few hours each day, half of which I pay.
When he wakes me up numerous times a night, then instead of thinking, with relief, that I'll have a few hours the next day to myself, I'd love to know the "other means" you're thinking of.
