50" TV help

I am looking to buy a 50" tv and wondered if anyone had a bit advice. My tv I bought from Powerhouse and took the extracare insurance, I am told, has been cancelled. It is only 3 years old and going to cost a fortune to repair. thanks for any help.

Yes I have very large rooms so anything smaller looks like a portable, anyway I did loads of research and the tv I bought is HDTV, all singing and dancing. But no doubt within a couple of weeks there will be something new and mine will be outdated, so its a case of how long do you wait. Thanks for everyones advice. :T
