I had this with Tesco.
They stated they had up to 6 months to take the money. Basically tough luck if you went overdrawn. Which I did, on my current account.
I wouldn't be too hasty, they will get to it. I am sure. Don't 'wanna' pay twice now, do you?0 -
On the 22/07/2013 I booked a hotel stay in the Uk for 1 night for the 26/07/2013 via their website and gave them my credit card details as requested. Paid for the extras in cash. Yesterday the hotel contacted me via email saying that they needed payment as I only guaranteed my stay with my credit card. Do I need to pay this after all this time. Thank you very much for all your help.
You had the service, you should pay.

They will most likely pass it to a debt collection agency if it hasnt been paid.
Is it worth the hassle a debt agency would bring? All that glitters is not gold.0 -
To summarise
The moral argument says you should pay as you had the service.
The legal argument says they have 6 years to enforce it, so yes ultimately you have to pay. You could make it hard for them, but you might get hassled by debt collectos and have fees added.
I can't see why that would be worth it.0
