.....Maybe she did feel embarrassed. I didnt really get that impression from her txts, but tone can be a hard thing to read on a screen. She went on two luxury holidays, within a few months of each other and now is broke......

Maybe she has had her LBM and is now facing up to a financial future that has no spare cash for a wedding, whoevers it is.

And you never know, they may decline your kind invitation - just because you invited someone doesn't mean that they MUST attend ;)

I had my oldest friend drop out of being my bridesmaid (and friend for that matter) 6 months before my wedding.

Looking back it was the best thing to happen. It made me realise even tho we had known each other and Vern best friends for years it had always been 1 sided. She was jealous that I was happy and could not bring herself to be happy for me instead choosing to try and ruin it.

1stly I would make sure there is no genuine reason she feels the need to pull out. Has she been a bridesmaid before? Maybe she is to self concieous?

If not a good reason move on and be grateful it has come out sooner rather than later!

I am sorry to hear this happened to you. Like I mentioned before, this is what happened to me as well but about a year before but for very similar reasons. This girl has gone on to bad mouth me to mutual friends and social media. Well rid!

Hopefully you hadn't spent out too much already for her things and you are much better of without friends like that. They are like leeches - sucking away your time, effort and energy and making you feel bad for not being able to do more!

  • I think people are being really unfair here to the OP.

As she's repeatedly said it's the way the bridesmaid went about it and TBH I would have felt just as hurt.
