the lead you have got is probably for the older 2nd generation shuffles, you will need to search ebay for a power lead for a 3rd/4th/5th/6th gen lead.

Did you click on my second link? That's the lead I bought.

Thank you so much for your help :-)
I did wonder if it was the lead. But it "seemed" to be right.0 -
The seller has offered me a refund if I pay the return postage, I guess I will need to use a special trackable & signed for method?
Hardly seems fair to be sent broken goods & have to pay refund.....
Can anyone confirm, I am using the right lead aren't I?
You paid £1.19 for a cable and are considering paying £1.70 to return it with a signature to get your £1.19 back? Even if you send it by standard postage you'd be covered for its value if the seller claims to have never received it back just ask the Post Office for a certificate of Posting.
There are 3 options:
1) You bought the wrong cable - there are two versions with different electronics but they look identical to casual observer
2) You bought the right cable but its faulty
3) The iPod is faulty
Its fairly reasonable to request that you pay for the return when there is only a 1 in 3 chance that its the vendors fault given it isnt them that you bought the iPod from.0 -

Its the iPod I thought was faulty.
Thankfully the poster above has shown me the differences with the cables & pointed me in the right direction.
I never suggested returning the cable - that would be stupid.0 -
