High Fuel Emissions - which fuel additive?

As far as replacing the cat goes that is unlikely. And is normally the first action of a mechanic too lazy to try and fix the issue cheaply.
Definately try CataClean. Car Mechanics Mag did an article on it a few years ago with good results.
If you have access to Costco you can get Redex for a lot less than Halfords etc.
Around £10 for 4×500ml bottles if memory serves.0 -

Thanks bigjl,
I do know someone that has CostCo access, will keep that in mind, mate.
If you check earlier in thread, you'll see I'm having oil, air and fuel filters changed, along with plugs and oil.0 -
Well, the car passed it's MOT without the need of a new cat, today. Added Cataclean and replaced air/fuel/oil filters and new oil.
I don't have the figures as it's undergoing one more repair.
But I wanted to post how impressed I was with Cataclean. After adding, the performance was like that of a different car. I actually got that "being pressed back into your seat" feeling since the first time of driving it.
Have learned a lot on this thread. Thanks to all of those who posted.0 -
Glad to hear it's all sorted.
For those who suggested Redex, I have found that Millers is more effective, and cheaper too.0
